The new passport design. Immigration began taking applications for the new Malaysian passport in phases from 1 July 2026. SAYS reported that UTC Seberang Prai was in the first phase (from 1 July 2026) and UTC Pulau Pinang (KOMTAR) in the second (from 6 July 2026). SAYS also reported that the online renewal service, MyOnline Passport, handles only the five-year passport, so for the ten-year passport you apply in person. Existing passports stay valid until they expire.
