What movers and lorry hire cost in Penang

The short version

Two Penang lorry hire businesses that publish prices list a 1-tonne lorry at RM120 to RM300 and a 3-tonne lorry at RM250 to RM400, as read on their own websites on 14 October 2026. These are starting prices: distance, helpers, stairs and the number of trips add to them.

Neither business publishes a full house-move package price for Penang.
Crossing the Second Penang Bridge costs a two-axle, six-wheel lorry RM30.50 in toll.

Both businesses give one price per lorry size:

Mazlan Movers lists a 1-tonne lorry from RM120, a 3-tonne from RM250 and a 5-tonne from RM300, each "bermula dari" (starting from), with a free quote.
Lafiy Lorry, on its Penang and Bayan Lepas page, lists a 1-tonne lorry at RM300, a 3-tonne at RM400 and a 5-tonne at RM500.

Lafiy lists extra helpers separately, from a set price. For a full house move, within the island or to the mainland, ask each business for a written quote.

Crossing the bridge

Second Penang Bridge (Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge). The operator, Jambatan Kedua Sdn Bhd, publishes these toll rates:

Penang Bridge (the first bridge). For the current toll, check the operator PLUS's own website.

What one delivery app adds. Lalamove publishes a Penang Bridge toll charge that it adds only for deliveries from the mainland to the island, not the other way: RM25.00 for its small 10-ft lorry and RM30.00 for its medium 14-ft lorry. It also adds an island surcharge for orders picked up on Penang island: RM11.00 for the small lorry and RM13.00 for the medium one. Lalamove does not publish its base fares on that page; its app gives the price for each trip.

What pushes the price up

Zazira Movers, which takes Penang bookings, lists what its quote depends on: item volume, route, lorry size, manpower, property access, parking distance, lift or stairs, date, and any packing or furniture-handling. For a condo, it asks for the lift booking procedure, loading bay details and approved hours.

What to ask before you book

Is the driver included, and how many helpers? Lafiy prices helpers separately from the lorry, so check what the lorry price covers.
Is the toll included? Lalamove adds the bridge toll as a separate charge for trips onto the island. Ask any mover whether its price includes it.
For a condo: has the building agreed a time and a lift? Zazira asks for the lift booking, loading bay and approved hours before it quotes.
What does the quote assume? Give both addresses, the floor, whether there is a lift, and a list or photos of the big items. Zazira's list of what affects price is a good checklist.

If the job goes wrong

The Tribunal for Consumer Claims (TTPM) hears claims about goods and services under Act 599, the Consumer Protection Act. The claim must be for RM50,000 or less and arise within 3 years. The filing fee is RM5.00. Keep the quote and receipt, and photos of anything damaged.
