Locksmiths in Penang: who says they work 24 hours
Three locksmiths whose own websites say they cover Penang, with the phone, shop hours and 24-hour claim exactly as each publishes it on 17 October 2026. None publishes a price for opening a door, so here is what to ask before they come.

Locked out? Phone more than one locksmith and ask for the total price before anyone travels. Three locksmiths say on their own websites that they cover Penang. Not one of them publishes a price for opening a door, so there is no price range to give.
- Two say they work 24 hours, and one of those also publishes shop hours that are much shorter. Check which applies at 2am.
- The third is based in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor and travels to Penang.
- Boon Hong publishes prices for padlocks, remote controls and some locks, which are not a call-out price.

Boon Hong Locksmith lists house and office lockouts and car key problems, key duplication, lock repair and replacement, digital locks and remote control duplicating. Its news pages are headed with George Town, Bayan Lepas and Bayan Baru. Its company registration number is shown on the page as 201703079993.
Emergency Locksmith KL says it covers Georgetown, Tanjung Tokong, Gurney Drive, Jelutong, Bayan Lepas and Butterworth. It asks you to send your location and a photo of the lock on WhatsApp. It publishes a table that rates prices in words only: a modern door unlock "Most affordable", and after-hours call-outs (night, weekend, public holiday) a "Slight surcharge". There are no amounts.
Teong Locksmith says it has been established since 1994 and lists an open-door service, an open-car-lock service, car key duplication and lock installation.

Published prices
Only Boon Hong publishes prices, and they are for things you buy, not for coming out. On its home page, a 50mm padlock is RM60.00, a mortise lock RM380.00, a Doorex digital lock RM500.00, and copying a remote control RM30.00 to RM50.00.
There is no price table, because none of the three publishes a price for opening a door.

What to ask before they come
- What is the total, including night, weekend and travel charges? Emergency Locksmith KL says after-hours work carries a surcharge but gives no amount.
- Are you in Penang, and how long will you take to reach me? One of the three is based in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
- What is your company registration number? Only Boon Hong shows one on its page.
- Will you drill or break the lock, and who pays if the door is damaged? Ask before work starts.
