Email from Fiona Middleton (fiona.middleton@essex.gov.uk)

"Was in Penang for 3.5 years 1989 - 1992. Gurney Drive was fabulous. We used to go there after a night out or even FOR a night out, to eat. Food was just amazing. Does anyone know if it's still there? I heard that there are no makan stalls there any more. Is it true? That's so sad! Fiona".

hi Fiona, what you heard cannot be further from the truth. Still plenty of hawker stalls along Gurney Drive plus all kinds of other eateries. Best wishes, kayes.
