The foyer of this Hotel has excellent accoustics,I think due to the domed ceiling,which can prove rather embarrassing sometimes

Is that so Jim? I never realised that. You can literally hear a pin drop? Or from where I was standing when I took this pic, it would be possible for me to hear what that couple was saying?

I have to say I have never dropped a pin,therein,Kayes.Suffice it to say,the accoustics are very good.I love the pic,so many people fail to appreciate the joy Malaysians put into festivals,of all kinds.Further please allow me to say Christmas in Malaysia,is without doubt,the best Christmas I have ever enjoyed anywhere in the World

We remember fondly the E & O hotel long before this photo was taken. When we were in Penang 1964/1966 it was the old hotel and the main entrance was directly behind you in this picture.The hotel was boarded up for many years and was often broken into and lots of the old artifacs went missing, the grand piano still remains in the hotel though.
