Hi Kayes. We visited this Chinese temple the last time we were in Penang this time last year. We found it beautifully renovated and the classrooms very authentic. It was very sad to read that it was not used again after the Japanese occupation of Penang after WW2. Not very many in fact no other visitors were there at the time, maybe many tourists do not know of its existance as it is very tucked away.

hello Derrick, like it's big brother, the Khoo Kongsi, the Cheah Kongsi is also well hidden. They made the expensive structures this way during the olde days. Harder for rival gangs to find.

What a gem is hidden in Armenian Street. Thanks Kayes, will certainly visit the Cheah Kongsi when next in Penang.
