An email from Chuah Ghee Leng.

"Hi there...I am Pg boy... Penang will be in me forever until I am gone one day...
I started my schooling Std 1 in Hutchings School (now the Pg Musuem)...It was a wonderful experience...1959.
Mrs Lowe was my form teacher; she was also the school music teacher; plays the piano and teaches English. One of my most memorable teacher when I was Std 2 was Miss Nellie Neoh; she used to stay in Malacca Street; she was a left hander; hitam manis with nice dimples when she smiles; her bicycle has got 2 black bags tied to the sides at the rear carrier where she will bring back all our homework to mark; I was the class monitor and always helped her to carry and put the exercise books into the bags. I also remembered the guy working in the bookshop there who tells us stories; e.g. about the boy name "lai kuuah" -come and see - a hilarious joke. Farquhar Street is very sentimental to me. After school, there was this coconut water stall outside selling his drinks; sometimes pinkish in colour...and we always asked for lots of "nyok" - coconut kernel in local Pg Malay...ya.
Anyone remembered these? Should any reader knows the whereabouts of Nellie Neoh or Teoh, pls contact me: eddiechuah33@yahoo.com or 012 4285388 I am hoping that Madam Nellie would see this message and contact me. I want to say Hello and give a her a present. Thank you all. Long Live Penang".
