Hullo kayes, Sorry but I've been absent for a while. That long in fact that I'd forgotten my password and had an email address change.
We have been back to Penang a few times, and hope to do one last trip, maybe next year.
Good to see your site is still going.
All the very best,
Garry

hi Garry and really long time no see! Good to read your posts again. Write more if you find time. The last time I heard from you, you said you now rent an apartment at Time Square whenever you visit Penang. You still do that?

Yes, we did rent an apartment at Times Square for a month about 2 years ago. We had a really great time, walking around a lot of the old areas that we hadn't visited before. We found it to be a lot better staying in town, rather than at BF. We were very impressed with the new shopping centres, and especially the new buses. Much better than the old smoking Hin buses.
We would like to do a similar trip maybe next year, however the Times Square apartment is no longer available.
Just for info, I am on Facebook, and there is a RAAF School Penang page on there, where ex students (RAAF brats) talk of nothing else but their love of Penang. And the same goes with a lot of us ex RAAFies.

Cynthia Harris runs a website for ex RAAF brats and she has linked Penang Talk for many many years and so we get a lot of ex RAAF brats visiting. The last time I spoke to Cynthia was when I put up several photos of the former Crag Hotel in Penang Hill which is now used for a movie shoot. You can see the photos here:-
