Thaipusam is a Hindu religious event but many Chinese in Penang (and the rest of the country) celebrate it as well. The breaking of coconuts (deflating of one's ego) is a must when the silver chariot passes through. Pic was taken near the junction of Penang Road and Magazine Road.

Epic shots! It is really an eye opener. Thanks Kayes for sharing.


The number of Chinese celebrating Thaipusam in Penang is obviously more than those in KL - if I am not wrong. Love the second pic. It looks like a drawing to me. The smoke at the back of the pic. makes it more so. Skillful photography at the max. Congrats!!
