The house/private club(?) next to Boon Siew Villa (just before Boon Siew Villa) if we travelled towards Batu Ferringhi looks very exclusive. Many plants and foliage shield this place from the hustle and bustle of the busy road. Wondering what place is that .....

Hi Kayes, Et Al,

Sad news as reached me from Penang this day that our mutual friend, one 'Heng' ex-police inspector, late of the 'Garrison's' Jalan Codrington, Pulau Tikus, as sadly passed away, 12th March, 2010, I shall always remember with fondness our times we shared together, and how he looked after me whilst I was domiciled Penang, 1974-1977, a guardian angel, RIP my friend.

As for the property, I seem to remember in the seventies being invited to a 'New Years Eve' party, at some big cheese's pad, who worked at that time for 'Robert Bosch' a German Electronics Giant based Butterworth, and the this property seems to fit the bill as being the venue I enjoyed 'New Year' all those years ago, I say this because one of my friends at the time decided to after having drunk lot's of 'Anchor Beer' to have a swim, and in the proceess losing his dentures, which luckily we retrieved when the tide had gone out next morning, happy days indeed.

hi Norman, I read the obituary in the papers. I know of a friend who went bowling and his dentures fell on to the lane just as his ball was hooking in for an 8th consecutive strike :-)
