The Chinese name for this church which is printed on the front wall fencing reads as 'Niu Che Shui or Ngow Chair Sui in Cantonese)' Gospel Hall. Singapore's Chinatown is also called Niu Che Shui. I wonder why?

Niu Che (ox-cart or bullock cart) Shui (water). If I am not mistaken, there is no Jalan Burmah in S'pore's Chinatown.
