The Elceetee Buidling has been demolished to make way for development. "Elceetee" stands for "LCT" and "LCT" is the late Lim Cheng Teik, one of Penang's multi millionaires. I have no regrets the building is gone because it was an ugly sight anyway. With the Elceetee Building gone, I can at least take a pic of the Customs Building (the old Railway Building) from a rare angle.

Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, Kayes! To you, certain buildings are ugly but others may say otherwise. Smile

This is what they are building here. The fire hydrant looks good if you happen to walk your dog.

Expressive tagline on a project name which doesn't sound local. Rich house colours - Royal Blue and Gold. It projects an up-market property image. Thumbs Up!

Rice Millers is now open. The rooms are international furnishing. Thought they would have done a more local design.

This hotel is not open yet. I must have misunderstood them.

hello hypy and thanks very much for posting a message at Penang Talk. Now that I don't have to babysit my grandson too often, I will be posting more pics of Penang soon Smile By the way, I am very familiar with this area in Penang because my office was here for 35 years. The Rice Miller Hotel & Residences will be opening soon and how I wish we had a 5 star hotel like this when I still had my office in Beach Street. I could entertain clients by just walking across the road!

I took this pic this morning. Looks like the Rice Miller won't be opening anytime soon. Hope all's well with them Smile

Hi I just left Penang after an extended CNY trip. Lots to do including a big finish at the City Hall - free laksa & other food.

Be back in June. I don't live in Perth. I travel in a circle Malaysia, Thailand & Cambodia.
