A great man who loved all forms of motorsports. He always gave his support in the organisation of such events when he was Chief Minister of Penang. When I was Secretary of the Meet for the Penang Circuit Races in the 70s, his office never failed to grant all my requests to stage a better race. Pic shows the late Tun Dato' Seri Dr Lim Chong Eu flagging off the Malaysian stage of the SIA London-Sydney Rally in 1977 at the RAAF Base in Butterworth.

YES I have to say having been around Malaysia 1981 -2006 Lim Chong Eu did more for Penang than any other person in its history........ Father of the FTZ.
