Great to see some pictures Kayes. If you could post a few more when you get a chance it would be appreciated.

Also, what's the status on the old Mutiara redevelopment???

Hi there,
I am new to this forum but used to use the old one a year or two ago. Is there a place to post general questions about Penang? I can only seem to find where to leave comments regarding a particular photograp. Any help much appreciated as I am visiting Penang again in a few months.

hello Michelle, you can post your general question about Penang under any photo and it will be seen by all who read this board. On the front page (www.PenangTalk.com/photos) you can click on "Recent comments .... more" and all the comments will show. Do not fear that your post will not be noticed by others. It will be Smile

hi Alan, Long Beach is unscathed. The "annex" was burnt down. From pic below you can see that Long Beach is untouched by the fire and all the stalls there are operating as usual. In the foreground, the annex on the right fringing the river and at the spot where I was standing, was burnt and the rubble since cleared.

I does not look as bad as it sounded, I was fearing the worse. True to Penang standards it will not be long before it is built back up to as it was before, I hope so as we will be back in Penang again in the New year.

A friend has just emailed telling me that they saw a wheelchair accessable taxi , had the wheelchair symbol on roof , in Penang yesterday , they believe that it was based on the island .
Anybody with info with the possibility of telephone number if sighted greatly appreciated .

When that pair of orange lions danced at about 12.30pm on the second day of CNY, I had to hide myself in the car with the music blasted to the fullest. Smile

Hard Rock as seen this morning. Traces of the old Casuarina are still evident.
