Kayes all Alfa enthusiasts will feel sad to see the sorry state of this car. Would you know if the body is less rust-prone today?

No idea what Italian steel is like today as I bought my last Alfa in 1981, a GTV6. I used that car for 4 years and had no problems with rust. The GTV2000 shown in pic above used to belong to a chap who worked at the then Malayan Banking in Main Road, Taiping. It was always parked in the vicinity of the Taiping post office. It is now dumped outside a motor workshop in Kamunting.

I think all European/Japanese made cars are now manufactured from decent quality steel and with adequate rustproofing. Many offer 10 year anti perforation warranties. Simply put if anyone today made cars like they did 30-40 years ago (with such blatant built in obsolescence) then they would be subject to a lot of class actions and consumer protection litigation. Cars are better built today than ever before although sadly not as charismatic and interesting.

sad to see this beauty rot like this. wonder if the rust has gone to the chassis. if not then may someone could save it and put it back to its former glory.

hello Bravo168, I am afraid this car is a total basket case. It was used for some years by an officer of Malayan Banking in Taiping and then landed outside this motor workshop in Kamunting, Taiping.
