Kayes, probably not the appropriate place to post this.If not, then I leave to your judgement to delete. Some years ago, when I was at RAAF Butterworth I had dealings with a Locally Engaged Civilian Employee,an Electrician I believe,by the name of Loh Ah Bah,please pardon if my spelling is in-correct,Loh had always told me that as a RAAF Policeman,I should learn how to speak Chinese because I had contact with the local Population.Which of course was true.Unfortunately it was a language I could not master. One Sunday morning I had a briefcase handed into me that was found property, and contained a number of documents, some of wich were obviously Certificates.Bordered in Red and Gold and in beautiful Chinese script. Now I could not understand this, but I thought, immeadiately,of my friend Loh so took the documents to his house,he lived next to the base.On arrival I showed him the documents and asked him to read them for me.Whereupon he said,"I speak Chinese, but I don't read Chinese,I was educated in an English school".I laughed and he appreciated the humour of the situation,we shared that humour for a long time afterward
