It's always pleasing to see how well maintained places of worship in Penang are. Is this a regular temple?

No, it is not a regular temple. The place belongs to some association which has its entrance on the right. Immediately to the left is a small mosque.

Kayes,I saw this door when I was last in Penang. I wish the people in charge of this temple had old-fashioned locks as the shinny padlock looks quite out of place on the door!

The problem of course,Blue Grass,is that the old style Chinese locks,can be opened with a piece of brass shim.Now you and I would not think of such a thing,however not all people have the values that you and I have

You are most probably right, Jim, security above aesthetics! However I do have an antique Yale & Towne lock that I should perhaps offer them. This should be no easy picking.

Guess what ! I am bringing my family for a really long holiday in July this year . Now there's four of us and we are looking for a holiday apartment with all mod-cons. Any suggestions please ? Anywhere but Batu Ferringhi !

Blue Grass, I found an old pic of this temple before the restoration. I think the padlock is the same.

Thanks Kayes. It is always interesting to see the 'before' and 'after' pics. I am glad the restoration has been done tastefully and professionally. As you noted the padlock seems the same, although after the restoration it has been placed in an even more prominent position!

You are right there Blue Grass. The position of the padlock is now higher and more noticeable Smile Wonder whether they have installed CCTV too.
