Jim, at first I thought it is a stud farm. Being a horse racing fan, each time I hear the word "sire", I think of stud duties Smile The "Museum Restaurant" belongs to Steven Yeap, one of the heirs to the Ban Hin Lee Bank fortunes. Steven has donated his former home (the magnificent Homestead along Northam Road) to the Wawasan Open University and many of the heritage furniture and fittings of Homestead have nowhere to go and so he decided to have a musuem to house them. I think it is an excellent idea as the museum shows how the rich lived in the early 1900s in Penang. A couple of months ago I visited the museum with some friends but we had no time to stay for food. I took a quick look at the menu and while the main items were "Western dishes", I thought I saw a section on local dishes and that might include Hokkien Mee Smile By the way, The Sire opened only recently.

Jim, I also had to take a second look at the photo for the same reason. BTW, "Fantasy" next door turns out to be low-cost accommodation (the wonders of the Internet!). Regards Peter

hi James and welcome to Penang Talk Smile Where are you from? Your college is in Bukit Jambul and this restaurant is in George Town, in front of the Esplanade, near the Town Hall. Take a Rapid bus to the ferry terminal in Weld Quay and you can walk from there.
