Mr Jamie Troup, the Consul General of the Australian High Commission, Kuala Lumpur attended the 1st day's races (20.12.2008) of the current Penang Yang Dipertua Gold Cup Meet. Pic shows Mr Troup and his charming wife. For those who might not know, Jamie posts now and then to Penang Talk Smile

Kayes Thank you so much for including us on your website. For those of you who haven't been to the races I can certainly recommend it as a great day out. Cheers Jamie

hi Jamie, very pleased to read your first post at this new Penang Talk Forum. Hope to read more of your posts since you were a regular at the old forum. I wish I could have stayed in your box longer to spin a few yarns but on race days, I am very busy and the interval in-between races is so short. Here's a pic of you presenting the prize to the trainer of the winning horse after the running of the South Australian Jockey Club trophy. My regards to your charming wife.

Thanks Peter next assignment for me is Brisbane ... will be hard after all but 7 months in 31 years on overseas postings. Will need to visit Canberra now and then so will look you up. Good to see that like me Penang is a special place for you. Jamie

Although I read most of the comments, I don't usually have a lot to say, but my old ex-RAAF mate, Jimmy Joyce usually makes up for that. Good to see an updated photo of the Troups......Jamie, when you get to Brisbane, if you're ever up in FNQ, look me up.
All the very best for the festive season to all Penang Talkers. I had hoped to get back to Penang this year, but I just went from one job to another and had no time. One day.......
