Kayes, is this pic of the Goddess of Mercy's bust some sort of optical illusion? Please can you shed some light behind this pic?

There is no optical illusion here. It is a statue of Kuan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy. I took this pic last week at the topmost level of the Kek Lok Si Temple complex.

Oh, that explains it. I've never been to the top deck. A definite must-do on my next visit, for sure.

You can drive straight up here. Like the Esplanade, there seems to be a constant breeze blowing and also a great view of George Town.

Thanks for the info, Kayes. Looks like my buddy and I will join some of the local guided tours. There are just too many changes in Penang. I don't think either of us would fancy getting ourselves hopelessly lost, considering the brevity of our stay on the island.

Felt like making a second visit after seeing this picture.
