In those disco-less days we just had parties in the houses of those with liberal parents, where we danced to the 45's and 33's under a red or blue light (wrapped in red or blue coloured plastic sheets). Drain-pipes levis were in with Elvis ducktails. Bicycle disc brakes were wetted with kerosene to give that macho groaning sound when brakes were applied. The coolest spots in town were Ngee Fah records at Magazine Circus and Eden Milk Bar (1st in penang???) down in Hutton Lane.
