Poh Chan & Jock, thanks - Paramount Hotel & Northam Rd, oh, how these wonderful Penang names stroke/stimulate my memories. Yes, Jock, am currently overseas and really losing touch with the Penang of yore. But Poh Chan has been very generous in helping me recover some delightful memories. And PC, thanks for the info on the Ayer Itam bloke - must visit that place when I am next in Penang.The other delightful Mamak stuff I love was that poh pniah at that restaurant next to the Rex cinema. Bloke used to squat next to the laksa stall at the rear section of the kopi tiam. I used to have that with the loh-mee or char koay teow, during our hey-days of cheap matinees every Saturdays [50 sens only, but primary aim was to meet girls ;-)]
