were never disrupted and we enjoy the continuous use of such utilities. Penang island is not a disaster area and life for us here is back to normal. There is no shortage of anything .... plenty of food and constant supply of water and electricity. Please do not equate us with what happened in Phuket. Between the two, Phuket suffered much more than us. We got splashed by some big Tsunamis and 48 lives were lost ..... and that's it. We were really lucky compared to many other places in the region. About hotels, the Mutiara would be the more luxurious of the two. The Golden Sands is a very comfortable family hotel. Your choice would depend on what kind of surroundings you prefer. if it is your first trip here, I would suggest you stay at the Golden Sands. Best wishes, kayes. |
