Hi kk, the bertone-designed 105 series coupe has basically the same body (minor change throughout the years; rear-wheel arch, front nose & vents, bumpers, front & rear lights).
Started production in 1963-1976, it covered few variations; namely Sprint GT, Sprint GTV, Sprint GTC (cabriolet-rare), 1750GTV, 2000GTV & 1300 & 1600 Junior (GTJ). GTA are homologated race versions, Sprint GTA, GTA 1300 Junior, GTAm (Autodelta), GTA-SA(Autodelta, I think).
The Sprint GT & GTV and early version of GTJ have 'step-front' nose with side vertical signal lights beside a single round headlamp. Prices have gone up considerably due to the demand for conversion to a GTA look-alike these days. The rear lights are small type with square reflectors. Single-piece convex shaped dashboard are unique to these models (See the above GTA model).
The 1750 GTV started with 4 headlights with a new revised front nose & single-slatted grille, small rear lights as previous version for 1750 Series 2 onwards. Only 1750 Series 1 has a one-off rear lights with long rectangular reflectors and front signal indicators that wrapped at the rounded edge above the steel bumpers.
Dashboard have 2 separate binnacle and a full piece centre console that runs from the dashboard to the rear seats. 1750 are considered as the best looker among all the 105. These dashboard also appeared on some Series 2 & 3 GTJ.
The 2000GTV has a totally different grille, multiple slats and comes together with the centre heart. Big rear lights and new dashboard with integrated instrument binnacle and a different centre console. These are also featured in some of the later GTJ.
The GTA are special models with limited production runs. Aluminum body skin instead of steel. 2 versions available; stradale (street) & corsa (race). Corsa version are more extreme with thinner plexiglass and sliding windows instead of the standard glass for weight-saving. Fuel tank access from the top of boot, twin-spark for each cylinder, sliding block rear suspension, and many extreme options to go. GTAm are race-prepped cars by Autodelta and mostly are through special request. Mostly are not alum cars like GTA but mod versions of 1750 & 2000. Special features are extreme wide wheels and wide flared wheel arches. GTA-SA are turbocharged version. Mind you that Alfa Romeo were not very consistent with the different variations and actually different parts may appear on a different model. A lot of true collectors & restorers had a tough time restoring it to its correct period. But it's something worth exploring as you'll find something new everytime.
Sorry, too much words there I guess. I'm still new to this and learning it everyday. You can wikipedia it to get a rough overview or try some good sites to learn more like alfabb.com/forum.
Cheers.
Wee Liam
