It's an Austin Metropolitan, manufactured by Austin of England from 1954 to 1961 and sold in the US as the Nash Metropolitan. It appeared in both fixed head coupe and convertible forms. Early models were powered by the 948cc A40 engine, later models by the 1500cc A50 engine. A rather horrid manual column gearchange operated a 3 speed gearbox. The model pictured is the most desirable - the convertible with top access to the boot. The access to the boot in earlier Metropolitans was only via the back seat - very inconvenient! I owned a 1957 1500cc fhc (with back seat boot access) in Singapore in 1973. I would guess that the car in the picture is one of the later models.Douglas Fox
